White Road Residents Say Alam-No
The mayor and the board of trustees for the Incorporated Village of Mineola held a hearing last week to consider an application of architect Matthew S. Degiamo, representing Alamo car rental, located at 462 Jericho Turnpike, for a special use permit to legally operate their car rental business so that they can store 15 cars on the site.
Dr. Nagler Comes to Mineola
Hanging in the principal's office at Mineola High School is a movie poster from the popular Frank Capra film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, starring Jimmy Stewart. If one were to make a movie in Mineola High School this year, the title could easily be Dr. Nagler Comes to Mineola.
Outward Bound Proves to Be Great Experience
The Outward Bound class offered at the high school is an educational experience like no other. It does not consist of homework and cramming for tests. Instead it requires an individual to challenge him or herself by exposing them to various adventures and situations. The quest to expand their comfort zones is done with the support of fellow classmates and assisted with educated professionals. This class is offered to Mineola High School seniors in place of a gym class. It meets every other day just like a regular gym class and requires annual field trips.
