The Mineola Community Pool opens for your enjoyment on Saturday, June 15, at 11 am.
The pool hours from June 15 to June 21 will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Starting June 22 through Aug. 23 the daily pool hours are:
Mondays: 2 - 9 p.m.
Tuesday - Sunday: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Beginning June 25 Early Bird Adult Swim Tuesday-Friday 8 - 9:45 a.m.
The transportation service to the pool runs from Tuesday to Friday and it commences on Tuesday, June 25. Please refer to the back of your brochure for scheduled stops and times.
Our swimming Lesson Program ranges from Level I (Parent/Toddler) to Level V (Swimmer).
Lessons are 1/2 hour long and are held on Tuesday through Friday mornings (unless otherwise noted). There are three sessions for swimming lessons, each one lasting for three weeks.
Session I - June 26 through July 12
Session II - July 16 through Aug. 2
Session III - Aug. 6 through Aug. 23
Classes are filled by the lottery system. All those not accommodated for one session will be automatically registered for the next session.
Adult lessons are held at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays and on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Registration for adult lessons takes place the same dates as the children's registration.

The Board of Trustees will hold Public Hearings on Wednesday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue regarding the following applications:
Application of Matthew S. Degiamo on behalf of Rita and Bertram Friedman, for a special use permit to operate a car rental business, including accessory vehicle storage on property located at 462 Jericho Turnpike.
Application of Winthrop University Hospital for a special use permit to utilize premises located at 288 Old Country Road as and for a school.
The public is invited to attend. All persons will be given an opportunity to comment.
Approximately seven million people in the United States suffer from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, commonly known as GERD, and often described as heartburn accompanied by reflux. Without treatment, it may impact the patient's life.
To learn what can be done to treat GERD, the public is invited to attend Winthrop-University Hospital's Perspectives in Health free lecture, "GERD: You Don't Have To Live With Heartburn" on Tuesday, June 18. The program will begin with registration at 6:30 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7 p.m., and will take place at Winthrop's Community Outreach Center, located at 101 Mineola Blvd, at the corner of Second Street in Mineola. Parking is available in the rear of the building.
Frank Gross, MD, Chief of Endoscopy at Winthrop, will discuss the causes of GERD and the latest advances in treatment, including medication and new surgical techniques. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.

The Mineola Historical Society will be holding its annual "Garage Sale Fundraiser" on June 15 at its headquarters, 211 Westbury Avenue.

Village Offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. There will only be commercial garbage collection on the 4. There will be no regular garbage collection this day and there will be no newspaper collection for this week.
The collection schedule for this holiday week is:
Monday and Tuesday, July 1 and 2 - Normal Collection.
Wednesday, July 3 - Garbage Collection for Thursday, Route and Rubbish
Collection for the entire Village of Mineola.
Friday, July 5 - Normal Garbage Collection.
