Does Commercial Vehicle Law Infringe on Rights?
The Village of Mineola passed a commercial vehicle law, making it unlawful to park a commercial vehicle in a residential area overnight, so that quality of life wouldn't be hurt as a result of streets and driveways being saturated with trucks that tend to be eyesores. However, one Mineola family has been hurt by the law and found the village's tactics in the matter to be upsetting.

No Swimming Against Other Teams
The Village of Mineola Swimming Pool won't officially open until this weekend, but there has already been quite a splash. After reading in the Around the Town with Lou column in the Mineola American, some residents voiced their objections to the pool/recreation board's decision to stop competition between Mineola swimmers and Floral Park and Williston Park swimmers in favor of an all-intramural program.

A Salute to Mineola Mustang Athletes
The Mineola Athletic Booster Club hosted the annual varsity sports dinner last week, giving the opportunity for the club and the Mineola Athletic Department to honor the varsity athletes and coaches whose dedication once again brought Mustang pride to Mineola athletics.
