With a day in May set aside to pay tribute to those veterans who paid the ultimate price in sacrificing their lives in times of war in defense of freedom, it never feels like one day is enough. After all, these veterans gave up every day of their lives. Those who died in battle or were POW-MIAs, never recaptured the lives they led before answering their country's call. The Mineola High School girls lacrosse team played in the ultra rugged Conference I, but survived. The effort paid dividends because the Lady Laxers made the Nassau County playoffs. The Mustangs then opened the playoffs with a victory over Glen Cove. FULL STORY
