Barnwell House of Tries won their 4th game of the season with a hard-fought 3 to 2 victory over Mineola Florist. Barnwell jumped out to an early 3 to 0 lead after 3 innings with clutch at bats by Anthony Fabrico and Nick Martone. John Carlo Clancy, who pitched the first three innings for Barnwell, struck out 7 of the first 9 batters. The game ended with Mineola Florist rallying back to cut the lead to 3 to 2. With the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the sixth, Barnwell pitcher Anthony Fabrico induced Victor Ramos to hit a hard grounder to 3rd base. An alert John Carlo Clancy bobbled the ball, but stayed with it to get the force out at third. For the Barnwell Cardiac Kids it was another cliffhanger.

After winning the first three games of this young minor league season, Barnwell Tires has now lost two consecutive heartbreak games to Nassau Chromium and Mineola Bicycle.

Against resilient Nassau Chromium on a cold Wednesday night, Nassau Chromium rallied back from a 6 to 0 deficit, to defeat Barnwell 11 to 6. On a positive note, pitchers John Carlo Clancy and Anthony Fabrico continued to dominate for Barnwell.

In a rematch of two first place teams, Mineola Bike rallied back from a 2 to 0 deficit to win 5 to 3. Barnwell's offense was sparked by Joe Romano, Joe Hill and Matthew Saketos.

Mineola Chamber comes back to win their 4th game. Trailing 3 to 1 going into the 4th, John Englis lead off with a walk, Fred Usma followed with a triple to right scoring Englis. Freddie then stole home, James Kelly walked and stole second and third and scored on John Sullivan's single for a 4 to 3 lead.

Harry Katz came right back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take a 6-4 lead. Leading off the 6th for Chamber's was Terry Mooney; Terry singled. Terry loves to run and with that he stole second, third and home. Fred Usma doubled and proceeded to steal third and home, getting Mineola Chamber back into it trailing 6 to 5. Top of the 6th saw Chamber's James Kelly and Ed Nienstedt walk with 1 out. Daniel Fitzgerald walked to load the bases, Terry Mooney came up big with a triple to clear the bases, and Daniel Fitzgerald pitched three strong innings. John English and Fred Usma made 2 good defense plays.

Mike Brady and Robert Kruse each had two hits for Katz.

On a night more like for hockey the game time temperature was 44ºF.

Total Security scored a 10-2 win over Mineola Chamber. Leading the way for Total Security's was Anthony Morias who pitched the first 3 innings and K-ing 6 batters. Anthony was also 2 for 3. Frankie Lao went 2 for 3 for Security's.

Mineola Chamber's Daniel Fitzgerald and Daniel Vojivodic were both 1 for 2. Daniel V. had a RBI and scored 1 run. Playing left in the 5th inning was John Englis who threw a strike to catcher Carmine Sarno at the plate to get a would-be total security runner.

On a sunny Saturday morning two Farm teams played a solid game. Leading the way for Foot Care was David Pepe who hit the outfield grass in center. Hitting the ball well for Police were Stevie Mogavero who hit the outfield grass in right. Zachary Englis also hit the rightfield grass. Robby Clarkin had three good hits and teamed up with first basemen Luke Escobar to record 5 outs. Matt Stephens continue his fine play behind the plate. Kevin Haridman, Joshue Lopes, Gina Valente and Timmy Bracco each played a good game.

County Seat Kiwanis 6

In the fourth game of their Major League season, Harry Katz defeated the County Seat Kiwanis by a score of 8 to 6. A lead off walk by Zane Kerny followed by a Mike Lacava walk, back to back RBI singles by Mike Brady and Rob Kruse and a two-run double by Gabe Couto capped 4-run third inning. A 2-run 5th inning homerun by Mike Brady with Mike Lacava on base sealed Kiwanians fate. Expert hitting and catching by Rob Kruse and no-hit pitching by George Braun and Matt Siwinski held the lead. Troy Kerney smacked a single and a double in the game. On the Kiwanis side 3 hits along with two runs scored and 2 RBIs by Mike Granath lead the team on the offensive. Nick Santos doubled in a run and scored a run in the third inning.

Mineola Auxiliary Police

Olympos Service Station

On a Saturday with the outlook of rain coming in, Auxiliary Police squared off with Olympos Service Station. Hitting the ball well for Auxiliary was Timmy Bracco, with a long double to right center. Stevie Mogavero and Matthew Stephens had two good hits. Matthew also caught and did a fine job. Luke Escobar played a nice first base and second baseman Zachary Englis caught a high pop.

Congratulations to Robby Clarkin and Kevin Hardiman for making their Communion. A happy birthday to Robby Clarkin, Matthew Stephens and Zachary Englis.
