The new pastor of Corpus Christi Church, James Bowman and Father Tomaz Gomide enjoyed lunch at Churrasqueira Restaurant.

One of the men who keeps the presses rolling at Anton's is Nicholas Perdomo. He and his wife Rose live on Bedford Avenue just across Herricks Road.

Met Tim Sullivan at the Jericho Diner. Tim and his wife Peg live in Garden City, but formerly lived on White Road in the house now owned by Marilyn Donnellan who recently lost her husband.

Adelino and Maria Ferreira live on Schuster Avenue. He is better known as "Lino" the genial host at the Davenport Restaurant. Lino has been in this position for the past 19 years.

Diane Haller of the Mineola Choral Society recently dined at lunch time at the Jericho.

Those fast walkers taking their constitutional around the west end are Rich and Gloria Corrao of Latham Road. Rich works at Northrup Grumman.

John and Jane Schroeder of Mineola and children Samantha, 18 months and Jessica, age 4, enjoyed the MAA parade.

Always good to meet Anita and Steve Coche of Wellington Road around town.

John DaVanzo attended the wild Met game where they trailed Montreal 7-0, caught up and went ahead 8-7, only to eventually lose 9-8. John lives in the Birchwood Apts.

Carl DelVecchio, former Williston Park mayor, patronizes the new Curascript Pharmacy on Willis Ave.

Vinnie Lupinacci of McKinley Parkway is a retired NYC Detective having spent 32 years in the department.

Sharman Mehlman is a new resident of the village living in the Clinton Arms. Her Mom and Dad are Jerry and Muriel Mehlman of Plainview. Jerry is active in the Mineola Chamber of Commerce.

Al and Peggy Ford of Florida visited Mineola. Al is the founder of Willis Hobbies now run by his sons Ken and Steve. The Fords used to live on Mineola Boulevard.

Village Justice John O'Shea reports that there were 3,341 parking tickets given out in March plus 157 moving violations.

You know our much-used word "honcho" is the Japanese word for leader. William Safire, the wordsmith of The New York Times, tells that "finagle" is not a Yiddish word as many thought but, actually, an old Anglo Saxon word for cheat.

Good luck to the new daily paper the NY Sun. The paper actually is a continuation of the original Sun which existed from 1833 to 1950. In the last issue in 1950 they said that the solution to the crossword puzzle would be in the next issue. And lo and behold the answer was in the first issue 52 years later.
