We were very sorry to lear of the death of Lennie Kazdan of Colonial Aveue. Lennie was a diabetic and fought the illness his entire life. It affected his eyesight but, believe it or not, Lennie was still able to ski downhill. He could be seen most days walking through the village with his cane. He was a real fighter and fought to the end. He was a Korean War veteran and a graduate of the University of Connecticut. He was active in the Sperry Ski Club, Scouting, Police Boys Club of Mineola, Mineola AA and volunteered at Winthrop Hospital. He was a board member of Congregation Beth Sholom for 30 years. His wife, Ruth, was the ace reporter for the Mineola American for many years, covering village meetings of both Mineola and Williston Park and, also, school board meetings.

Recently met a young lady with a lot of Mineola connections, although she lives in Smithtown. She is Maria Irace Odnoha, daughter of Marjorie and Izzy Irace. Maria and our daughter, Sr. Annmarie many years ago were students at Marguerite Gainey's Dance School. One time Corpus Chrisi had a talent show and Maria and Annmarie entered as a dancing duet. None of us remember exactly what they did, but there were four very proud parents in the audience.
