Story Time group schedules are:

Toddler: Mondays: 10:30 AM- For ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2.

Preschool: Mondays: 1:30 PM- For ages 3 1/2 to 5 1/2.

The Leisure Pass Office is now open. Hours of operation are as follows:

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6 - 9 p.m.

Saturdays: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

If you are a new member or need to have your picture retaken you will need to make an appointment during these hours. Appointments are scheduled at specific intervals so we cannot accommodate walk-ins.

If you are a returning member, you need only to mail your application with the proper documentation to the Village Hall. Please refer to your application letter for all the necessary information.

The ancient practice of yoga is a whole-body approach to health and exercise. As part of Winthrop-University Hospital's extensive community health outreach program, Geriatric Health-Services and RISE (Referral, Information and Support-Services for the Elderly) is offering "Yoga for Seniors", a special program taught by seniors on how to improve strength and flexibility by practicing yoga from a chair.

Jules Bender and Edith Jason, certified and registered yoga instructors, will demonstrate ways for seniors to achieve a general state of well-being through guided healing meditation and gentle stretching. The program will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Mineola Community Center at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola. Registration and blood pressure checks will begin at 1:15 p.m. and the program will start at 1:45 p.m.

LIPA's Home Catalog is part of LIPA's Clean Energy Initiative, a program designed to help customers save energy and lower their electric bills.

Village Offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, but there will be regular garbage pick-up.

Women battling cancer often suffer side effects from treatment that alter their appearance. However, the impact of these changes can be minimized through hair and make-up techniques. Winthrop-University Hospital, in an effort to support women through this difficult time, is offering a free program, "Look Good- Feel Better." This program will be offered on Monday, March 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hoag One Conference Room at Winthrop, located at 259 First Street in Mineola.

Women can learn how to look and feel their best by getting tips from professionals that will help soften the effects of radiation and chemotherapy through special hair styling, grooming, and make-up techniques. The program is presented by Winthrop in cooperation with the Long Island Division of the American Cancer Society, the National Cosmetology Association, and the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Please call 516-663-8843 before Feb. 26 to reserve your space.
