The Nassau Pops will be performing Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. at Chaminade High School. This is always a fun event.
There is a "Holiday Light Spectacular" at Jones Beach State Park thru Jan. 2. The cost is $12/car Monday through Thursday and $15/car Friday through Sunday.

This great program has teams for males, ages 5 through 17 and for girls, ages 5 through 13.
Games are played at the Raymond H. Uhl Memorial Rink, Wilson Park Rink and Williston Park Community Rink.
Games during the week commence at 6:15 p.m. and the last game starts at 8:15 p.m. On the weekend some games start at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day until early evening.

We had originally planned to start the tree planting last week but because of the unseasonable weather this program has been delayed until the third week in December.
Riding throughout our village, I am impressed by the number of homes that are decorated for the holidays and the creativity of so many displays. We truly have our own "Holiday Light Spectacular". Thank you.
As part of its extensive community health outreach program, Winthrop-University Hospital's Women's Health services is offering a new Kripalu Yoga class aimed at teaching participants how to manage stress through gentle stretching, breathing and guided relaxation. The classes will be held on Tuesdays, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at 286 Old Country Road, Upper Level, in Mineola. The cost is $80 for eight sessions, with free parking available.
Jules Bender, MS, RYT, Registered and Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, will demonstrate ways to improve flexibility, strength, energy and general well-being, while achieving a state of complete relaxation. Participants are advised to arrive 10 minutes early, wear comfortable clothing, and bring a tapas yoga mat, small pillow and blanket; eating dinner after class is preferred.
