On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Nov. 4, the Mineola All-Stars U-11 shut out the Bellmore Arsenals 4-0. Mineola All Stars came together for its best game. Good passing by Michael Anes, Helder Cancelinha, Michael Fox and Bryan Vesley kept the pressure on Bellmore Arsenal's goalie all day.

The All -Stars offense scored four hard-fought goals. A complete team effort in this game created scoring opportunities. Carlos Barros played his usual solid goaltending and Kevin McCann, Jim Murtha and Alex Ward were a brick wall on defense. They used their speed and determination to slow down the opposition's offense. Midfielders Matthew Hevron, Kevin Lopes, Patrick Lupfer, Anthony Marino, Connor McCann and Chris McCune moved the ball well and had several key interceptions at midfield. Great team work!

On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Mineola All Stars U-11 final divisional game was tough, but our boys withstood the pressure put on by the Garden City Wolves and came away with a 3-2 victory for 1st Place Divisional Title. Mineola All-Stars played an exciting game coming from behind and scoring three goals. The score was tied at the half. The tension mounted as the Mineola All-Stars scored two goals in the second half. The All Stars took the lead for good but not without some offensive pressure by the Garden City Wolves. Michael Anes, Helder Cancelinha, Michael Fox and Bryan Vesley were effective with some terrific shots and steady dribbling. Matthew Hevron, Kevin Lopes, Patrick Lupfer and Anthony Marino whose pressure led to many scoring opportunities put strong effort in midfield.

Tough goalkeeping by Carlos Barros. Chris McCunne, Jim Murtha and Alex Ward made a big difference with great defensive tackles. The Mineola All-Stars played all around sending the ball across the goal and successfully scoring. Parents cheered their kids on from both sides of the field. All-Stars played a high intensity game and did not back down from the aggressive tactics of the opponent. This was an entire team effort all season. Great teamwork! And, as usual, Gerri Fox led the cheering from the sidelines.Congratulations to the players and coaches Brian McCann, Bill Vesley and Andy Ward for a great season. A special thank you to John who trained the boys every Thursday. The All Stars are 8-1-0. It was a great day to end the magnificent season for the team and their loyal supporters.
