Ardeth Hoebermann of Dow Avenue enjoyed a visit to Las Vegas where she visited her daughter Christine Drew, who grew up in Mineola, and her grandson Bobby. Ardeth hardly ever goes on vacation and this was the first in many years. It's always good to hear from faithful readers like Dena Miller and Arlene Olson.

Good to see former Chief of Detectives Ed Curran in the office. Ed is still active in police affairs.

Bill Kaiser of Andrews Road plays a big part in the Mustang Run.

Mr. Hai, sacristan at Corpus Christi on the weekends, is retiring after 25 years. Some hears ago Mr. Hai, who was an officer in the Vietnamese Army, saved the money in the collection basket which was being stolen by a thief. In the scuffle he was stabbed. Later he was honored for this heroic deed.

So many kids in great costumes came to our house on Halloween. the only ones we recognized for sure were Connor Smith and Cody and Tighe Duffy.

With the departure of Koeppel Ford, Mineola now has no car dealers. We remember we used to have a Packard dealer, Studebaker dealer, as well as Buick, Plymouth, Dodge, Oldsmobile, Nash, Rambler dealers, Chevrolet and Mercury.
