Recreating the Story of Anne Frank
Evening is approaching on the first day of November. Although the halls of Mineola High School are quiet, inside one classroom after school, Director Ed Murray is shouting out directions to his cast. In just over a week those involved in Mineola's fine arts department will be putting on a production of the Diary of Anne Frank.

Survey Focuses on Student Drinking, Drug Use
Whether students are drinking and smoking to have a good time and look cool or they are doing it as a means of coping with problems and stress, a survey released by the Mineola School District and District Council of PTAs confirmed that students attending the Mineola School District are consuming alcohol, using marijuana and smoking cigarettes.

Mineola Red Heat, the boys U-16 travel soccer team, played a tough game against the Valley Stream Vipers on Sunday Oct. 21. It was a beautiful, hot sunny day and despite the low score, there was plenty of activity on the field.

Mineola Magic Versus Hicksville Rising Stars
Mineola Magic, the girls U-13 travel soccer team, played an exciting game against the Hicksville Rising Stars on Sunday, Oct. 21. The weather was bright and sunny that afternoon and the entire team performed very well. Magic would like to welcome Magda Jachowicz and Kathleen Flynn as the latest additions to the team.
