The Mineola Mustang Run Committee will hold its next meeting on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at Mineola Village Hall, located at 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola. All persons of whatever age (runners, walkers or non-runners and walkers) are invited to come to the meeting. Contact Trustee Linda Fairgrieve at 294-5914 for further information. At this meeting plans will be discussed for the event and also work will be done to send out the mailing to the runners/walkers.

The 17th annual Mineola Mustang 3.1 Mile Run/Walk and 1 Mile Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18. The proceeds from the event will benefit the following organizations: Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Mineola Athletic Association, Mineola Police Athletic League, Mineola Auxiliary Police, Mineola Fire Department (life-saving equipment), Mineola Historical Society and the Mineola Youth Services. A special donation will be made to benefit the victims of the World Trade Center. Applications can be obtained at Village Hall, Mineola Public Library, or call Linda Fairgrieve at 294-5914 to obtain some applications.
Volunteers are desperately needed for traffic control for the safety of runners/walkers and for sign up of runners/walkers for Sunday, Nov. 18.
