As they marched east on Jericho Turnpike toward the football field near Hampton Street, the youngsters representing the Mineola School District's elementary schools chanted, "USA, USA." Last Wednesday's public meeting of the Mineola Village Board was the first since the tragic attack on the World Trade Center. In a ceremony, the village invited representatives of the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department and Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps since both organizations contributed to the rescue effort at the World Trade Center. The Mineola Mischief continued their success on the weekend of September 29 with a divisional win over the Great Neck Thunder by a score of 2-1. The Boys U-10 travel squad also competed in their first State Cup contest against neighboring rivals, the Garden City Fire. The Mineola Mustang Run Committee will hold its next meeting on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at Mineola Village Hall, located at 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola.
