On Saturday evening, Aug. 26, the Celtic Soccer League held its championship game at Mineola's Wilson Park.

Teams from O'Donnell's Pub in Mineola, Hennessy's Pub and Brian Boru's in New Hyde Park, Trinity's Restaurant and McCarthy's Pub in Floral Park, Shackleton's Pub in Franklin Square, the Dribble Inn in Glen Cove and the Finish Line, all competed from June through August.

The second place cup went to O'Donnell's Pub. Pictured are Capt. Seamus Lynch, Kyle Teemsma, Kevin O'Donnell, and Martin O'Donnell.

The championship game was played by O'Donnell's Pub and the Dribble Inn. The game was hard fought by both teams with the Dribble Inn winning the championship by a score of 3-2.

After the game, guest of honor, Mineola's own Kyle Teemsma, presented the championship trophy to Peter Shanks of The Dribble Inn and the secondary trophy to Martin O'Donnell of O'Donnell's Pub.

Anyone wishing to join the Celtic Soccer League next year is asked to contact Martin O'Donnell at 742-9736.
