  • NEWS: Terrorists Destroy Twin Towers

    Tuesday, Sept. 11 - At 8:45 a.m. a hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into one of the 110-story Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. 18 minutes later a second hijacked American Airlines passenger jet crashed into the other tower. Both crashes caused firey explosions and within an hour and a half both of the towers collapsed. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Police Arrest Suspects in Mineola Burglaries

    Nassau County police have arrested two suspects in connection to recent burglaries occurring in Mineola and surrounding areas. The suspects allegedly burglarized a Mineola home, which was occupied, and one of the suspects allegedly robbed a convenience store, resulting in a shot being fired. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Mischief Tune Up For Debut Season

    The Mineola Mischief, the Mineola Athletic Association's newest boys travel soccer team, competed in the Ref-Fuel Tournament at the Mitchel Athletic Complex as a prep for their inaugural season in the Long Island Junior Soccer League. The Under 10 squad was competitive in the round robin affair finishing with a 2-3 record. The team received an early look at their divisional competition by facing off against two of the foes they will see in the upcoming season that begins on September 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Field. The team is coached by current New York Tech star Liam Wachter and his assistant TJ Czubakowski and supervised by travel coordinator Dolores Jose. FULL STORY
