On Aug. 19, seven members of the Mineola Fire Department participated in the Vytra-Tobay Triathlon in Oyster Bay. They welcomed the challenge with great enthusiasm, and all seven completed the Triathlon with minimal difficulty. Chief Scott Strauss, one of the participants, said, "It was tough, but we enjoyed the challenge. We all crossed the finish line. That's what counts."

The firefighters look forward to future races, such as the Mustang Run and they plan on participating in the Triathlon again next year.
