Important Meeting to Be Held on July 26
On Thursday, July 26 in village hall, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold a public meeting to receive input on a proposed project developed in cooperation with the Long Island Rail Road, Nassau County and Village of Mineola. The objective of the project is to improve safety and traffic flow in the village by either eliminating or improving the safety of the LIRR road crossing at Roslyn Road, Willis Avenue, Main Street and Second Street.

Hot, hot hot is how Orlando was as he pitched a gem of a game going the complete distance for Mineola. Chris pitched 6 innings allowing 4 walks while scattering 5 hits and striking out 5 in a 6 -2 Mineola victory over Roosevelt.

The Mineola Mavericks (13-year-old travel) sponsored by Windsor Fuel Oil played game one in the Hicksville Tournament League on July 6 under the lights at Wilson Field against Freeport. The team has a few new names on the roster. Anthony Orsano, Anthony Plumbatello and Tiago Rodriguez are the new draftees.
