The next meeting of the board of trustees will be held at 155 Washington Avenue Mineola on July 18th.
A Public Hearing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Public Meeting at 7:30 p.m.
The public is encouraged to attend a public forum on July 26th at the Village Hall, 155 Washington Avenue, Mineola.
The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) will have materials for you to review regarding the proposed improvements to the LIRR crossings at Roslyn Road, Willis Avenue and Main Street.
Representatives from the DOT will be in attendance from 4 to 7 p.m. to address your concerns and to enlighten all on the particulars on these projects. There will be a "formal" comment session from 7 to 9 p.m.

The New York delegation to the Second Continental Congress, which was held in Philadelphia, abstained from the July 2nd vote for independence from England.
Furthermore, the New York delegation did not participate in the July 4th vote that approved the Declaration of Independence. It was not until July 9th that New York affirmed both of these actions of the Second Continental Congress.

We have had several severe weather events in the last few weeks. Your water department, should our village lose electricity, has five ways to keep the water flowing and the main plant has a generator which permits the continuing monitoring and control of water flow.
Registration for Session II swimming lessons will take place at the pool on Saturday, July 14, from noon- 2 p.m. Only children who were not accommodated in Session I are qualified to register for this session. You will need to present your child's Mineola Leisure Pass at the time of registration.
Session II begins on July 17th and ends on Aug. 3rd.
July 14th is also our first Adult Splash Party. The festivities will begin at 9 p.m. and run until 12:30 a/m. Musical entertainment will be provided by RPM Entertainment. Please bring your own refreshments and join us for what promises to be a fun night.
On July 18th we will be hosting a Petting Farm in Wilson Park from 1 - 3 p.m.
This program is sponsored by the Cornell Cooperative Extension Outreach Program and is geared for children up to the age of 10. Children must be accompanied by an adult to enter. They will have an opportunity to interact with farm animals, big and small.
Representatives from Cornell Cooperative will be on hand to assist and answer any questions. This will be a new learning experience for a lot of our children and we hope that our residents take advantage of this opportunity.
Sign-ups are now going on for the upcoming Ping Pong Tournament in the park. This tournament will take place on July 17th, 19th and 24th with the championships being held on July 26th. Each competition will begin at noon.
The age groups for this event are broken down into the following categories:
8 years old - 11 years old
12 years old - 14 years old
15 years old - 17 years old
18 years old - 24 years old
25 and over
All who are interested in competing may register at the roller rink in the park any day from noon-8 p.m. The deadline for registering will be July 13th.
