Congratulations to Boy Scout Troop 45 for another successful Father's day Pancake Breakfast. The annual event, which is a fund raiser for the troop's Summer Camp Program, has grown into a tradition that many area families make a part of celebrating Father's day.

Many thanks to the Mineola community who came out in record numbers despite the heavy rains that blanketed the area that morning. Also thanks to the many area merchants who supported the Troop by taking placemat ads, especially Piccolo's Restaurant for their very generous sausage donation.

For the past 80 years, Troop 45 has been an important part of our village and we are proud of the Scouts and the many Troop 45 Alumni who live and work in Mineola. Good luck to the 32 Scouts and 6 leaders who will participate in the Troop's summer camp at Onteora Scout Reservation in August.

Last week we had numerous Public Hearings, which continued until 1 a.m. To all the residents of Mineola who took the time to attend these hearings, I want to thank you.

Throughout these hearings those in attendance were polite but yet demonstrated, in a most effective manner, their concerns about the issues that were being discussed.

Again, to all thank you.
