Program Bridges Gap for Seniors
The senior experience in high schools throughout Long Island typically consists of proms, applying to college, cruising through the late spring days while compiling a series of memories. As the year winds down, students fight the urge to cut classes, or in some cases, give in as spring fever blows in through the school's open windows. At Mineola High School, though, the entire senior experience is more complex and, as students prepare to turn the page in their academic lives, more worthwhile.
Hello and Goodbye
Mineola School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Harry Jaroslaw knew when he announced his resignation to the board of education that the time would come when his replacement would stand before the board and the residents of the district. That time came last week when, at the board's regularly scheduled monthly meeting, the next superintendent of the Mineola Union Free School District was introduced.
MAA Baseball Report
The pitching of Ryan Pratt and Anthony Morais held the hard hitting Barron's team to just one hit. Pratt has five strikeouts in three innings of work. Terry Mooney hit a long double to center to plate a run for Katz but Barron's came back to score two runs in the third. Katz scored their second run when Pratt's bunt scored a run. Barron's scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead, which is how the game ended. Barron's recorded the final out while stranding two Katz runners.
Congratulations to the Mineola Mustangs for the 2000-2001 Season
On Monday, June 4, the Mineola Athletic Booster Club held their annual varsity dinner honoring all of the athletes and coaches who participated in the Mustangs 2000-2001 season. Congratulations to all the coaches, players, administrators and members of the Booster Club, who constantly support the Mineola School District's Athletic Program.
