K's Auto Repair (7-1) maintained their one-half game lead in the Minors Division with a hard fought 6-4 win over Mineola Bicycle. In a quickly paced game on a beautiful late Saturday afternoon, this game had everything good baseball deserves - solid pitching, good defense, aggressive base running and lots of hitting.

K' Auto got off to a fast start as TJ Winters led off courtesy of an error and stole second base. He would later score. But Mineola Bicycle answered back as Brian Williams smacked a solid single to plate two runs for a 2-1 lead.

Vinny Ruggiero would blasted a clutch two RBI triple for a 4-1 lead securing the chance for starting pitcher Winters (2-0, 2.43 ERA) capture the win.

This rivalry has turned in some of the best baseball in the Minors this season. The Cyclists used four call-ups in this game including some fine first base play by Billy Sullivan and outfield help from Brandon Labrano. Catcher Brendan Maloney nearly cut down two K's on the bases. The Vehicles showed some versatility by getting catcher Mike Castellana out to shortstop for a few innings and bringing Nicky Franzini in from center field to second base for a full contest. Fortunately for K's, these two teams will not meet again before a possible playoff matchup in mid-June.

The battle for first place continues after a week of weather and holiday cancelled play as all six teams knock heads with one another down the stretch of the season. These last two weeks will determine seeding for the first round of the playoffs that will begin on or around June 12.
