Mineola School Budget Passes
Last week the residents of the Mineola School District approved a $57,488,644 operating budget for the 2001-2002 school year. The budget passed by a margin of 841-765. As a result, residents can expect a school tax increase of $3.88 per $100 of assessed valuation. However, district officials believe they now have the funds to make some of the needed repairs in the schools.

The Mineola High School Alumni Foundation, a non-profit educational foundation, announced the launching of their website on the Internet at www.mineolahsalumni.com.

MAA Baseball Report
Harry Katz started the game by sending nine batters to the plate. Anthony Morias walked as did Daniel Fitzgerald. Fred Usma then delivered a double, scoring a run. A walk loaded the bases for Ryan Pratt, whose double scored two runs. Katz closed out the inning, scoring five times.

The Mineola High School Spring Athletic Season resulted in three teams making the playoffs. Baseball, softball and girls varsity lacrosse all headed into the postseason.
