Corpus Christi Boys Fifth-Grade Basketball Team won its second tournament of the season. This time against a very strong St. Vincent's of Elmont Team (36-31). The difference in this game was the foul shooting of Corpus Christi, which shot 6 of 9 from the line. St. Vincent's had a taller squad, but Corpus Christi used quick passing and drove hard to the hoop to draw fouls on the home team of St Vincent's which kept them in foul trouble most of the game and Corpus Christi going to the line.

Tommy Flynn hit some clutch foul shots as he was three of four from the line; Michael Diglio was two of three. The one miss he had, he rebounded for an easy basket. T.J. Gessner was one of two from the line and had 6 points and Jimmy Murtha ended up with 12 points and had several nice fall-away jump shots in the paint. Chris Brostek scored 4 points and gave the team a boost as he went inside to knock away a couple of balls that would have been easy baskets for St. Vincent's.

The opposing coaches noted that Corpus Christi was such a deep team and that is thanks to the strong play of Brendan Reedy, Alex Lopes and Frankie Lao, who always give their best effort, game in and game out.
