The 7th grade volleyball team completed a successful season with a .500 record. The home crowd really seemed to make a difference to the young athletes who won four out of five matches. By comparison, on the road, the team was 1-4.

The team's setters - Liz Campbell, Roseanne Mercurio, Nicole DeStefano and Colleen O'Shea - displayed the skill and mobility needed at that position. Christine Medlock, Jill Shanahan, Natalie Matulich and Lauren Napolitan provided the height and the aggressiveness need by middle hitters. As outside hitters, Kelly Munson, DeShauna Turner, Veronica Baierwalter, Nicole Corrao, Chelsea Rosher, Peri Rachell, Bethany Brown, Kacie Mulligan and Vicki Daza improved their skills during the short but intense two-month season.

For their dedication, perseverance and overall contributions to the team, Bethany Brown, Nicole Corrao and Veronica Baierwalter were awarded "Strive for Excellence" shirts.

In addition, coach Noreen Fitzpatrick will be retiring soon. The girls were proud to have been her last coached team. The players thanked coach Fitzpatrick for her knowledge, patience, wisdom and care for the team. She was presented with a bouquet of roses.
