Happy Anniversary, Corpus Christi!
On Sunday, Jan. 21, the Corpus Christi Parish kicked off its 100th Anniversary celebration with an opening Mass at 11:15 a.m. in the church. Parishioners braved the snow that had fallen that morning to attend the parish's centennial celebration.

Round Three of CVS Hearings
Last Wednesday, the Village of Mineola Board of Trustees reconvened a hearing on a proposed plan to erect a CVS store on the north side of Jericho Turnpike between Emory and Andrews Roads. Like the first two hearings, discussion centered on potential traffic problems a CVS might cause on an already busy road.

Corpus Christi Team Splits Weekend Games
Corpus Christi Boys 5th grade basketball team split two weekend games recently. Corpus Christi defeated St. Peters 38-24 with three players scoring in double digits in points. Jimmy Murtha had 12 and T.J. Gessner and Tommy Flynn each threw down 10 each. Chris Brostek had 4 points as he again penetrated the lane and Brendan Reedy contributed 2. Michael Diglio was a workhorse on the boards as he battled the twin towers of St. Peters.

Mineola Varsity Hoops on a Roll
The Mineola High School boys varsity basketball team ran its record in Conference B-II to 3 and 2 with a 67-64 overtime win over visiting Valley Stream North. Dave Terezo led the Mustangs with 17 points and six steals. Drew Wachter added 13 points while Dan Bailey contributed 12 points. That victory gave the Mineola boys a sweep for the evening. The Mustangs' JV team was also a winner over Valley Stream North, a 51-43 decision. Jerell Harrison put 17 points while Matt Bispo scored 12 points and Rattan Kamboj added six.
