Congratulations to the Mineola Middle School 8th grade girl's soccer team. Led by first year coach Mrs. Critchley, the girl's team posted their first undefeated season with a 9-0 mark.

The team's turning point occurred in their game vs. North Shore. Trailing at the end of the third quarter 2-0, Mineola scored two goals in the fourth period in a span of a minute to tie the score. Not content to settle for a tie, North Shore offered Mineola the opportunity to play a "sudden death" fifth period to send one team home a winner.

Mineola carried the momentum from their fourth quarter goals to score once again and win 3-2.

This year's team carried 19 members. They are: Christine Wall, Caitlin Orlando, Katie Keegan, Sarah Mooney, Jessica Napolitano, Michelle McGuinness, Joanna Cohen, Courtney Barry, Jen Costa, Katie Hughes, Jessica Handibote, Kristen Bubelis, Katie Steen, Liz Sanderleaf, Nicole Lapin, Brianne Ruzek, Stephanie Cifuentes, Jessica Antonison, Caitlin Herrera and Nadia Ney, team manager.
