Corpus Christi Boys 5th grade basketball team opened the season with an impressive 24-10 win against St. Gertrude's.

It was a total team effort with Tommy Flynn leading the way with a team high 9 points. Michael Diglio followed that up with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Chris Brostek is again directing the offense as point guard. He also contributed 4 points in the win. T.J. Gessner is playing the role of swing-man as he goes from the two guard position to power forward. He had 3 points and 4 assists. Brendan Reedy was the sixth man and a valuable one, as he scored 2 points to help extend the lead. He called for a timeout at a critical point in the game.

Frankie Lao and Alex Lopes continued where they left off last year with a tenacious defense that has been a vital part of Corpus Christi's game plan.
