On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Mineola High School Rockettes, who perform in dance, kickline and "pom pom" events were treated to opening night at the Continental Airlines Arena at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. Although they were pleased to watch the New Jersey Nets professional basketball team play, they were most interested in viewing the Net dancers' performance at halftime.

The Net dancers are a professional dance and kickline team. One of the Net dancers is Karla Cavalli, a former Mineola High School student and also a former Rockette co-director. Ms. Cavalli, a Net dancer for the past three years, was instrumental in organizing the visit by the Mineola girls.

The current members of the Rockettes are: Christina Almazan, Lauren Anderson, Alison Auriemmo, Patricia Barbosa, Kimberly Bond, Lisa Bucalo, Lena Chacko, Christina Dennison, Kelly Dougherty, Lauren Dwyer, Stephanie Ferriera, Meredith Herrera, Michelle Imperato, Jillian Karlewicz, Kristen Loesch, Laura Lupo, Jessica Martine, Jackie McAward, Sarah McKeever, Danielle Mittleberg, Vicki Montalbano, Elena Nuzzi, Deena Marie Oliva, Nicole Reda, Kellie Robinson, Allison Rodriguez, Anjali Singla, Candi Sterling, Yesenia Tromp, Deena Vezo, Lauren Wenzel and Maureen Wojis.
