Samuel (Sam) A. Mattson, formerly of Williston Park, died on Oct. 11, 2000. Husband of the late Hilda. Father of Arthur S. Mattson, Beth Anne Roberts and the late Irene Kristine Bates. Grandfather of six. Great-grandfather of three. Brother of David. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Religious service at the East Williston Baptist Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery. Harry Weidy, 94, died on Oct. 25, 2000. He was born Nov. 25, 1905 in Montreal. He was a WWII Army veteran and a self-employed interior decorator. Harry had lived in Mineola and New Hyde Park before moving to Chester County, PA, in 1989. While living in Mineola he was past president of the Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary Club and commander of the Mineola VFW Post. When living in New Hyde Park he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Elks Club. He was also a member of the Sojourn Club. His hobbies includes bowling, bingo and sports. Son of the late Charles and Sarah (Stein) Weidy. Husband of the late Rhoda (Schoen). He is survived by his children, Garry R. Weidy of NYC and Carole Curtis of West Chester, PA; his sister Ann Gordon of Palm Springs, FL; and three grandchildren.
