Mayor Colbert Addresses Chamber
Mineola Mayor John P. Colbert was the guest speaker at the Mineola Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The mayor had been scheduled to speak last month but had to cancel because of illness. However, the mayor was in fine spirits, often displaying a sense of humor and thanked the businesses of Mineola for their contributions to the community.
First Town of North Hempstead Cup Is a Success
The Town of North Hempstead sponsored its first of what participants feel will become a standard Columbus Day Tournament. This tournament combined the club teams in the surrounding areas for what turned out to be a great weekend to play soccer.
Mineola Wizards Lose Two
The Wizards lost a hard fought game to the Valley Stream Twisters 4-3 on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the soccer park in Plainview. Goal scorers were Jamie Medlock and Valerie Jozef.
