Being a meter person is not an easy job. Irate motorists are often bitter when issued a summons. Stuart Goldstein was recently involved in a physical confrontation which resulted in the police being called to make an arrest. Laurie McCarron has been subjected to verbal abuse and the other meter people Frank Syracuse, Stan Stone and Florence Peterson have had similar experiences. The five of them do a great job by keeping traffic moving and adding to the village revenues.

These men are subjected to verbal and sometimes physical abuse by local residents. The deacon asked us to recall the words of Jesus, "What you do to the least of these you do to me."
