Phyllis R. Massa, of Wesley Chapel, FL, formerly of Mineola, died on July 10, 2000. She is survived by her husband Salvatore Massa; her daughter Linda Fairgrieve of Mineola; her son Salvatore Massa of Mineola; her daughter Laura Busch of Tampa, FL; her sister Madeline Maffetore of Mineola; and six grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Aug. 3 at Corpus Christi Church, Fitzgerald Hall, at 4 p.m. Following the Mass, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Italian American Hall, 115 Jericho Tpke., Mineola until 8 p.m. David D. Schmidt, 76, formerly of Mineola, died on July 17, 2000. Mr. Schmidt retired from the Mineola Post Office after 35 years of service and was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Husband of Louise. Father of Louise Griffin of Riverhead. Grandfather of Michael and Amy. Brother of Christine Folde and Katherine Groth. Cecelia Maureen (Lynch) Galatioto,37, of Arkville, NY, formerly of Hicksville and Mineola, died on July 26, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is now at rest with her mother Maureen (Supple) who died in 1969. She was born Sept. 15, 1962 in Queens. She was a homemaker and devoted mother of her four daughters. She graduated from Corpus Christi School, Mineola High School and Berkeley Business School in Hicksville and she was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the PTA at Margaretteville Central School. Daughter of Francis Lynch of Mineola. Mother of Katy, Stephanie, Carleen and Cassie. Sister of Kevin Lynch of Mineola. Also survived by many close friends in the Margaretville, NY area.
