Mother Nature pushed back the Millenium Mineola Fair from May 20 to July 8 and the Mineola Chamber of Commerce, village, vendors, sponsors and all those associated with it made the best out of the hand they were dealt.

Mineola Florist Captures Minor League Championship
The season came down to one game for the minor league championship between two teams ¬ Mineola Florist and Nasssau Chromium ¬ both with one loss. Florist came out the victor by winning the game 9-6.

Mineola Roughriders Capture First Place
The Mineola Roughriders of the Mineola Athletic Association placed first in the Commack Memorial Day Weekend Tournament with a perfect 5-0 record. Their first opponent was the Smithtown North Stars and Mineola prevailed in a 4-3 win. The scoring was done by Michael Marques (2 goals), Allan Silit and Anthony Morais. Goalkeeper Chris Orlando came up with a couple of key saves toward the end of the game to seal the win for the Roughriders.
