The Mineola High School Athletic Booster Club President Mark Debrich and Assistant Principal Mike Terc recently congratulated Janet Langer on her retirement after many years of dedicated service to student athletics. Langer hasn't completely said goodbye to Mineola High School. She is still involved in the Mineola High School Alumni Foundation. The foundation consists of Mineola High School alumni and parents of alumni.

The goals of the foundation is to award yearly scholarships to Mineola High School students, organize the alumni of Mineola High School to support fund raisers, and establish funds to enrich and support educational activities and non-budgetary programs of the Mineola School District.
The foundation, founded in the fall of 1999 and officially recognized by the Mineola Board of Education, awarded the Mineola High School Alumni Foundation Scholarship to Joseph Gettler on May 30. The foundation is looking for donations. Checks can be made payable to Mineola UFSD/Alumni and can be sent to MHS Alumni Foundation, 461 Argyle Road, Mineola, NY 11501.
