Nassau Chromium 10, K's Auto Repair 7

In their second meeting of the week, Nassau Chromium motored past K's Auto Repair 10-7. K's got on the board first when Carmine Sarno and Vincent Campanale got aboard, stole two bases each and came home. K's Auto battery of Tommy Flynn and Carmine Sarno kept the Chomies in neutral gear, with Flynn whiffing eight Chrome kids. The Chromies plated one run when David Easton worked out a full-count walk, nabbed a pair of bases, and came home easily on Chris Brostek's triple. The Kaysters came back to score three more runs, sparked by long drives by Zack Chichi, Carmine Sarno, Michael Diglio and Tommy Flynn. Down by four runs, the Chrome Boys showed their polish by scoring seven runs with Michael Granath, Joe Spollen, Nick Genduso and Anthony Morais collecting doubles. The Chrome Gang added two more runs when Paul Easton doubled in Chris Brostek and came around to score on Anthony Morais' single. K's kept the pressure on, scoring two more runs when Carmine Sarno doubled in Zach Chichi and T.J. Gessner. The K-Cars kept driving, but a slick fielding play by Chromium's second baseman Greg Lapin saved the game. Other highlights for Chromium were Brandon Hoffman's slide home to score the winning run and Alex Lopes' nine straight foul balls, possibly a new MAA record. For K's, Dennis Clark picked up a single and a walk. Daniel Lamonica pushed home a run with a walk and E.J. Lopresti played a stong outfield.

Century 21 Laffey and A & J Moving and Storage squared off on a sunny and rain free June day. A &J had some hard hitters, led by Christopher DeStefano and Kevin Hardiman.

The Locks tumbled right back to ties the game when Michael Brady singled in T.J. Winters. Hurlers Matt Siwinski and Joe Spollen traded scoreless second frames, each recording a pair of strikeouts. In the bottom of the third, Lock padded the score when T.J. Winters, Matt Siwinski and Michael Lacava reapped out base hits and Michael Brady blasted a three-run homerun. The Chrome Boys shined in the fourth, scoring five runs when Alex Lopes, Christ Brostek, David Easton and Greg Lapin reached safely and Anthony Morais smashed his first four-bagger of the year. The Chromies plated two more when Alex Eisen tripled in Joe Spollen and was banged in by Nick Genduso. The Lockies came back with Matt Siwinski driving in George Braun. But the Chrome Gang put the game out of reach when Anthony Morais and Paul Easton tagged up and scored on Joe Spollen's sacrifice fly after a great catch by T.J. Winters. Alex Eisen tallied one more run when he singled in Michael Granath. The Installers would threaten once more, but Chromie backstop Joe Spollen picked a Lock trying to steal a base, the second time in three games that Joe has closed out the game with a caught stealing.
