Willis Hobbies 10, Mineola Florist 4
Willis Hobbies scored five runs in the first inning and Mineola Florist failed to come back. Willis' Shawn Wachter had three hits and scored two runs. Rocco Redmond had two hits and scored two runs for Willis.
Mineola Florist's Fred Usma caught a solid two innings and threw out a runner at third base. In the third inning, Mineola Florist made a game of it by loading the bases. Fred Usma, Gabriel Couto and Matthew Dadich all walked to load the bases for Chris Lorusso. Chris hit a double down the left field line to score all three runners, making the score 8-3. Mineola's first baseman Matthew Dadich and second baseman John Englis made nice fielding plays to keep the game close, but Willis Hobbies went on to win 10-4.
In a T-Ball matchup, Century 21-Laffey and Bairrado Rodizio Restaurant played a very exciting game. Matthew Stephens and Stevie Magaoero had two hits each. Playing pitcher's mound, Zachary Englis made two good fielding plays and Robby Clarkin, playing first base, also made two nice plays. Danny Hastings had a nice slide into second base.
For Bairrado's, Ryan Winters and Vincent Spinelli had two hits and Tommy Wellbrock ran the bases very well.
Mineola Florist jumped out in the first inning scoring two runs on a single by Gabriel Couto and a walk to Matthew Dadich. Chris Lorusso then tripled both runs home. The K's came back in the bottom of the first inning by scoring five runs. The big hit of the inning was a two-run double by T.J. Gessner and an RBI single by Greg Klein. K's scored two more in the second to take a 7-2 lead.
In the third inning, Joe Wellbrock singled, Matthew Dadich singled and Chris Lorusso once again doubled to scored both runners to make the score 7-4. K's took a 9-4 lead into the fifth inning when Florist's again scored two runs with two outs. Dadich walked. Lorusso singled for his third hit of the game and John Englis walked to load the bases. Andrew Leno walked to score one and Mike Anes walked to score again. Going into the sixth with the K's leading 9-6, Joe Wellbrock got another single. With two outs, Gabriel Couto hit a long drive to right center that rolled to the fence. K's made two good relay throws and Tom Flynn blocked home plate to get Couto at home. The final score was K's Auto 9, Mineola Florist 7. It was an exciting game.
