Village Looks To Preserve History
Last Wednesday, one of the items on the agenda of the Village of Mineola Hearings was a proposed local law amending the Municipal Code of the Incorporated Village of Mineola to provide a new section entitled "Historic Preservation." This amendment will authorize the board of trustees to designate certain properties, sites and historic places which will be subjected to regulation and preservation.

Feeling the Effect
Their stories differ but in many ways they are the same. People, young people, in need of help, wanting to be helped in some way, find somebody to talk to or an activity that makes them feel better about themselves. Some who feel like they don't belong get a sense of comaraderie, a feeling of worth and some who stare tragedy in the face eventually feel comforted.
