The game started slow due to a wet field and the home team Elmont took advantage. The Chiefs defense of Kevin O'Toole, Travis Erichsen and Dillon Silfinger fought back.

Chiefs Goalie Jeremy Rodriguez was unbeatable in the first half with four saved. However, the battled tired the Chiefs and Eliason was put in the game to stop the pressing Elmont attack.

The Chiefs won several face-offs with John Magliocco and his mid-line of Troy Kerney and Joe Purcell.

Scoring started in the second half with Elmont going up by one early on. The Chiefs attack line of Ryan Smith, Theo Pina and Bryan Farrel spread the defense for second line middies led by Scott Galligan, Louis Corrao, and Nick Horne.

Late in the fourth quarter with both teams tiring, Mineola subbed Brendan O'Halleran and mixed up the mid-line. This led to three quick scores, giving Mineola a 3-1 win.
