December Fire Claims Second Victim
A fire that erupted this past December at 108 Arlington Street in Mineola claimed its second life when a 55-year-old resident of the home died last week at Nassau County Medical Center.

Lady Mustangs Undergo Rebuilding Process
Rebuilding is not something that Mineola High School girls basketball coach Denise Zunno has experienced very often. Usually, it's a matter of filling a spot here or there and it's off to the races again. But after losing seven seniors from the 1998-99 team, Zunno and the Lady Mustangs faced a rebuilding process this past season.

In a game played earlier this month that saw the lead change several times, the Blue Team edged the Gray Team 43-42. Leading the way for the Blue Team was Mike Donato, who scored 21 points, and John Englis, who added 10. Danny Mahlman and Zane Kerney chipped in with six points each. Matt Siwinski was all over the court, playing exceptional defense.
