Survey: Most Residents Favor School Bond
A two-thirds majority of the 1,650 residents who responded to a Board of Education survey agree the Mineola School District needs to bond for improvements to facilities and technology. The same percentage are willing to pay an additional $50 to $100 in property taxes to pay for it.
McCarthy, Schumer Take on High Drug Costs
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy and Sen. Charles Schumer were at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola last week to bolster support for Congressional measures aimed at lowering prescription drug costs for the elderly, and breast cancer patients in particular.
