Linda Fairgrieve, the Hometown Party candidate for Village of Mineola trustee, maintains the village has a deficit and says the large amount of bonding the current village board has done is one of the major concerns of residents. After reaching the halfway point of the season, the Mineola High School Lady Mustangs basketball team endured some tough losses and missed the playoffs. Coach Denise Zunno's young Mustangs ended the season with a 4-8 record in Nassau Conference IV. FULL STORY

The winter sports season is now over. Most of the Mustang teams were very competitive and represented themselves and their school community well. The boys basketball team has made the division playoffs, the girls and boys bowling teams made it to the County Championships and the wrestling team is currently in the qualifying meets for the county championship.
