The Corpus Christi boys seventh grade basketball team lost a close game to St. Joseph of Garden City at Corpus Christi gym.

After a very disappointing first half where the boys forgot to play as a team, they came out of it in the second half with the effort that led them to their last two victories.

The defense played by guards Brandon Zincon, Andrew Martone, John Taveras and Chris Lopes and second half rebounding by Bobby Pagano, Peter Diglio and Twy Sherman was inspirational. Scoring was led by Stephen Scholi and Patrick Dorime.

Although the loss was disappointing, it was very heartening to see the team all but outplaying and outscoring St. Joe's in the second half. The team's next game was Jan. 11 at 8:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory. Results were not ready by press time.

The team is always looking forward to fans from Corpus Christi to come out and show their support.
