Coming off a big win last week over Bellmore, the Mineola 9-year-old Police Athletic League football Chiefs (2-3) lost a heart breaker to the Baldwin Bombers (5-0).

After being down 21-0 in the first half, the Chiefs came back in the second half with a 65-yard burst by halfback Kevin Wilkens. Fullback John Carnvale made a huge block to free up Wilkins, who ran straight up the middle.

On defense, the Chiefs played very tough, even with several starters out with injuries or illness. Next week, the Chiefs play at West Hempstead at 12:30 p.m. This will be a fight for fourth place in the NCYFL.
