In the fifth game of the MAA Minors Summer Camp season, the Geodudes rocked the Lickitungs, 10-6.
The 'Dudes and the 'Tungs traded scoreless innings until the top of the third, when the Dudes bit the Tungs for several runs. John Sullivan drew a bases-loaded walk, and Vincent Campanale smashed a double down the first base line, accounting for three of the Dudes' seven runs that inning.
But the Tungs stuck it out for another inning, and had a big, two-out, six-run rally. It was started by Andrew Leno's single to left and heads-up base running by Johnny Englis and Paul Tapias.
The Dudes partied on for three more runs, stopped only by Gabriel Couto's stinging fastball. Alex Ward mopped up in relief for the Dudes, setting down three Tungsters on strikes.
For the Tungmeisters, Michael Vasconcelos banged out two hits, Kevin Brostek picked up another, Carl Nunziata reached base safely twice, and Allen Silit was sharp in his pitching debut.
For the Dudes, "Tino" Greene picked up a pair of singles and several low throws to first; Billy Sullivan added a single and a walk and Georgie Chang and John Sullivan scored two runs each. Anthony Fabrico and Carl Nunziata were both solid behind the plate and Kevin Etherson played another great game at second base.
