Delmar Joseph Wilkin, 84, formerly of Mineola, died on July 25, 1999. He dropped out of high school and became a carpenter, later mending Navy destroyers at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during WWII. He retired to Bradenton, FL, where he cooked pancakes for a local community group and tended a garden of rose bushes. Husband of Iona (Lebeck). Father of Delona Wilkin and Glenn Wilkin. Grandfather of two. A memorial service was held in Bradenton and Mr. Wilkin was cremated. Robert Hartmann, of Mineola, died on July 28, 1999. Husband of Ilse. Father of Martin (Jeanette). Arrangements were made by the Cassidy Funeral Home, Mineola. Religious service. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
