The Incorporated Village of Mineola, in conjunction with the Mineola Chamber of Commerce, invites you to attend an evening beneath the stars at Memorial Park on Friday, July 30.

The Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra will begin the festivities at 8 p.m. I would like to thank Legislator Richard Nicolello for obtaining a grant for the Nassau Pops.

Please bring a chair. Beverages and light snacks will be available.

The Adult Splash Party on July 17 was well attended and I am pleased that those who attended had a great time.

The singing "talent" of those who sang was something that will be remembered by those who attended this party.

On July 20, Trustee Betty Conlon hosted Fish Painting demonstrations at the pool. This "art" has its origins in Japan.

All those who participated had a most enjoyable time.

Registration for the third session of swimming lessons will be held on Aug. 6 and 7 from noon to 2 p.m.

These are available at Wilson Park for the use for our residents: basketballs, tennis rackets and shuffle board equipment.

Please contact a member of the recreation staff and they will be pleased to assist you.

Winthrop-University Hospital will present another free program to help women look and feel their best during and after cancer treatment.

This program will be held on Monday, Aug. 2, from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Hoag One Conference Room.

Cosmetologists and other beauty professionals will provide information on hair styling, grooming and make-up application to help minimize the effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. Please call 663-2361 for more information or to make a reservation.
