Mildred Manera, a resident of Mineola for 25 years, passed away on July 12, 1999. She was 85 years old and in a nursing home in Newtown, CT, for the last three years. She worked as a nursing assistant at Winthrop Hospital for 18 years (1965 - 1983). She is survived by her four children, Richard Manera of Bethel, CT, Virginia Trevor of Irvington, NY, Barbara Ryner of Morristown, NJ and James Manera of Tampa, FL. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson. The funeral was held on July 14 in Danbury, CT, with burial in Holy Rood Cemetery. Karen A.
