The Mineola Athletic Association Lightning made history last year as the first Mineola team, boys or girls, to play in the finals of the Long Island Championship. This year, that team has matched this feat, and once again have reached the finals. Playing in their final season together, the Lightning girls hope and expect to bring the Long Island Championship to Mineola when they play against Valley Stream for the division title at 3 p.m. at Mitchell Field on Saturday, June 12.
