Fleet Bank 8 - Lions Club 1

Great pitching from Mike DeStefano, Tom Oswald and Derek Webber held the Lions Club to only four hits. The big hits in the game were struck by Webber who had two including his second homerun of the season. DeStefano and Dan Vezo both added doubles while T. Oswald, Mike Lombardi and James Kelly each singled. Some spectacular defense was also played in the field by DeStefano, Webber and Kelly, while Mick Oswald made his catching debut and did a great job. Fleet Bank's record now stands at 7-2 and they remain tied for first place.

Astoria Federal 11

Astoria had homeruns hit by Robert Maloney and Chris Orlando who led a 12 hit attack. Jameson Canning and George Chang each collected two hits. Excellent pitchng by John Vanlaeri and Orlando combined for a 15 strikeout performance while allowing no runs.

This was Astoria Federal's sixth straight win.

With the score 4-1 Galaxy in the last inning, TK's Robby DiBella started the inning with a walk. Callup Andrew Leno walked, putting runners on first and second. Padraic Phelan, who had two hits, doubled in one run. Shawn Wachter then grounded out scoring another run making the score 4-4. John Englis was hit by a pitch and Gabriel Couto singled. With Jimmy Murtha up Englis and Couto stole second and third, respectively. On the next pitch, Murtha doubled scoring Englis with the game winning run.

Astoria Federal came out strong early, scoring six runs in the first inning, including a homerun by John Vanlaeri. Consistent hitting by Peter Clark, Jameson Canning and Robert Maloney with Mike Greco's last inning pitching sealed another Astoria Federal win.
